Almost Time

We are in the process of sending off the "final" documents to China. We received and signed our LOA (Letter of Acceptance) from CCAA (adoption officials in China). Our agency in Atlanta has all of our paperwork and now that we've complete our parent training hours they can submit the 1-800 tomorrow morning.

What is our next step? We need to send $450 for the post placement fee. We also, need to wire about $5,000 to the orphanage. As most of you know we felt "called" to adopt and we completely understand that not all people feel the same as we do. However, the bible tells us that we are to help widows and orphans. Through our research, we learned that many Chinese people feel that orphans belong in an orphange and that the orphanages create jobs! This is unimaginable to us that people think it's "ok" and are comfortable with the fact that children will never know the love of a family due to these kinds of factors.

We are in the process of setting up a ChipIn account on this blog so that we can continue to collect the funds necessary to bring our son home. Please prayerfully consider how you could financially support us in our journey. If you've been waiting for the right time, this is when we need your support the most. If you aren't comfortable donating online, donations can still be mailed to us and we'll pay 100% towards our adoption fees and travel expenses.

We did complete an Amazing project through Lifesong for Orphans in which we were blessed to be the Hands of Feet of God to a local widow, Cindy Brunson. We were able to paint her master bedroom, clean out her pantry and laundry room, redo her son's bedroom with fresh paint and clean it, and did some major outdoor yard clean-up. Cindy is so grateful and we feel honored that we are now a part of her life. Our work is not done in caring for Cindy and plan to return once the weather warms up to help her with other projects.

This weekend I had the opportunity to take our 4th and 5th graders from NC to SuperStart! Live. The entire weekend was based on teaching the students to do "Good Works" because did did the ULTIMATE good work for us by sending his son Jesus to die for us. We are not adopting because we want people to see that we are good people. We are adopting because we love Phillips - he is our son, and it's what God clearly tells us to do in the Bible.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

Love,
Tracy
